Matthew founded Stylus Architects to create a practice where design and delivery operate seamlessly. Before establishing Stylus, he worked with internationally renowned architects including David Chipperfield and Stanton Williams on the King’s Cross development. He was the delivery architect for 1 Pancreas Square and led work on the listed Transit Sheds for the University of the Arts London building, including the Western Granary office extension, projects defined by technical complexity, precision, and respect for heritage. These experiences shaped Matthew’s approach. He believes architecture must be conceptually strong, technically rigorous, and buildable. At Stylus, he leads the creative and strategic direction of the practice, ensuring every project benefits from disciplined design thinking, meticulous detailing, and a commitment to long-term quality.
Practice
At Stylus Architects, we are designers who build.
Design is only the beginning. We lead each project from first principle through to final execution, remaining closely involved at every stage. From concept development to on-site refinement, we shape, test and perfect every element with absolute precision.
Our strength lies in delivery. Through a trusted network of approved contractors, suppliers and specialist craftsmen, we maintain complete alignment between design intent and construction. This integrated approach allows us to uphold uncompromising standards of quality, detail and finish throughout the entire build process.
We believe exceptional architecture is the result of strong partnerships. Architect, builder and client working in genuine collaboration. Our studio-led ethos fosters clarity, accountability and shared ambition from the outset. Decisions are made with purpose, at the right time, informed by experience and guided by rigour.
Integrity, accountability and disciplined design thinking define our process. Every line is tested. Every junction resolved. Every material considered.
As an award-winning practice, we approach every commission, regardless of scale, with the same conviction. Your project is not simply another brief. It is an opportunity to set a new benchmark.
Entrust us with your vision, and we will realise it with precision.
